London School of Economics: Offers Received

And that makes it 5/5 conditional offers to choose from. (:

Decisions, decisions (though I'm kinda leaning towards both courses at LSE).

Movie Mania Countdown!

EDIT2: I've been bumped out of the Top50. SNIFF!

EDIT: Currently at the 50th place with 5 hours to go!

I'm currently at the 49th place in the Hall of Fame for Kakii's Movie Mania Trivia Challenge.

And I really really really hope I'll stay put or at worse, move down a spot. As long as I'm still in the Top50, it's all good.

Because being in the Top50 means 10 free movie tickets. Mmhmm. (:

So here are 5 movies that I'm absolutely dying to watch.

Hotel For Dogs - I'm a dog person. Enough said.

Confessions Of A Shopaholic - Read the books, gotta watch the movie.

Fast & Furious 4 - FAST AND FURIOUS 4 IS ON APRIL 2! (:

He's Just Not That Into You - I've heard that before. Pfft.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Hugh Jackman is the sex.

I sincerely hope nobody manages to kick me out of the Top50 within the next 24 hours. Everybody, pray for me.

Malaysian Dreamgirl Top12

Dropped by Mist last night to check out the Malaysian Dreamgirl finalists.

Yes, it was a Monday night but VIP passes and free flow of drinks aren't things I'd usually say no to.

As usual, parking was a bitch so after two rounds, we parked in front of some flats, right in front of a huge sign which read, "Parking for Flat Tenants Only!"

Desperate times call for desperate measures. (:

My apologies for the miserable pictures. We were like a gazillion miles away from the runway/stage.

So, who do you think's gonna be the next Malaysian Dreamgirl? (:

"Wtf. Looks like the cupcake from hell"

"Looks like burnt cupcake from the depths of hell"
"!!!!"

I am so insulted.

I Disappointed Me

My results came out today and from the title, I guess you can pretty much conclude how they turned out.

Four A's, three B's one C and a D. What crappy results.

Here's a breakdown of the papers;
Econs 3: B - Probably the most heartbreaking of them all.
Econs 4: B - Another heartbreaker.
Core Maths 3: A - Surprise surprise, my highest score this time.
Core Maths 4: A - Tiny consolation over here.
Further Pure 1: D - Prediction for this one was spot on.
Mechanics 2: A - Expected a perfect score, missed out on it by 5.
Statistics 2: B - Extremely aggravating since it was a 79.
Physics 3: A - No comment here.
Physics 4: C - Rather disappointing as well.

So, it's a confirm retake for Econs3 and FP1 but I'm still thinking twice about Econs4 and Physics4.

Needless to say, I'm not in the highest of spirits right now. Heck, I even gave up my invite to the Nuffnang Bloggers Nite Out with Digi tomorrow. :(

Damnit, my results make me feel stupid.

Dragonball; Evolution

Yeah, I know the poster says March 12 and today's only the 11th but thanks to Nuffnang, I managed to catch the movie last night. (:

From manga to anime and then video game, it was only a matter of time before DBE joined the ranks of the live-action motion pictures.

Dragonball; Evolution, a show which had so much potential in becoming a kickass movie, turned out to be not so kickass after all at all.

The show begins with Goku (Justin Chatwin) training in his grandfather's backyard. Enter: Gohan (Randall Duk Kim), Goku's grandfather and the two begin to spar which is the first bit of action in DBE. The martial art choreography was pretty decent (especially the bit where Goku hurls a fly into Gohan's mouth) and the movie was looking pretty good right until Gohan attacks with his signature move, the Invisible Crane Kick and all hopes of DBE turning out to be awesome evaporated.

What went wrong? Everything looked so fake.

Won't go into detail about the movie though I will say this. DBE was pretty short, possibly around 1hr 30mins and the scenes were so rushed through. I mean, the Goku-Piccolo fight lasted for about 2minutes and I only got to see a Kame-Hame-Ha once!

Nevertheless, there were certain bits that were pretty cool. Like when Bulma (Emmy Rossum) tosses out a tiny piece of sth from her pocket, presses a button and that tiny piece of sth transforms into a snazzy looking bike. And oh, Master Roshi's (Chow Yun-Fat) abode which was like a double-storey shack which stood amidst towering skyscrapers got an, "Oooh" out of me.

So yeah, if you've got nothing better to do or if you still insist on watching Dragonball; Evolution, it's out in cinemas tomorrow.

Kakii's Movie Mania

And this is what I spent my entire day on. Not the 39 FP questions we're supposed to complete by tomorrow but this; Kakii's Movie Mania Trivia Challenge.

All for the sake of winning 10 free tickets.

Damnit, I really need to get my priorities straight but until then... nothing's gonna stop me!

Was on a roll until my 116th question: Where was the first tripod destroyed in the 2005 movie, War of the Worlds? New York, Hong Kong, Osaka or Sydney.

New York....? Pfft. Not.

Am currently sitting at the 23rd spot, hopefully I remain there or at least in the Top50 until March the 15th.
